Dr Ganaja Samarajiwa completed his undergraduate training at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ruhuna. He started his medical career as a medical officer at Southern Regional Blood centre, Matara. He enrolled on the Postgraduate Diploma in Critical Care in 2013 January while working as the Medical Officer in charge at the regional blood centre.
He completed the diploma in 2013 and the same year, entered to the MD Emergency Medicine program as the country’s 1st set of Emergency Medicine trainees.
Ganaja Completed his MD in 2016 and 2-year foreign training at the Canberra Hospital in Australia. Currently, he is working at the Distract General Hospital Kalutara as Consultant Emergency Physician.
He is an ALS2 instructor in the Australian Resuscitation Council and enjoying teaching to doctors, nurses and medical students. Currently, Ganaja is the treasurer of the Sri Lankan College for Emergency and Retrieval Medicine
